The Ursus Tarot

In March 2021, I began to work on creating a tarot deck featuring bears. A card came to my mind, and I thought I would make a mock up for myself, and the next thing I knew, I’d stayed awake all night beginning my designs for a tarot deck all about bears. One of my favorite animals for as long as I can remember (my Hebrew name even means bear!), I looked for a tarot deck featuring all species of bears and I couldn’t find one. There are amazing Panda-themed decks, and individual cards within other decks that feature bears, but none that represent all 8 species of bears currently present on planet Earth. Thus I began designing The Ursus Tarot. Ursus is the Latin word for bear. This deck is very much still a work in progress, but it features all eight bear species, and will be fully-illustrated (ie not a pip deck). I am also writing an extensive guidebook for the deck.
